The story

Giggler giggles at everything, and his giggle has gotten him out of plenty of jams. Lost in the moonlit woods while trying to free his toy robot Silver, he giggles so hard that a moonbeam zaps him away.

He splashes down beside Captain Hook's pirate ship near Neverland, swims ashore, and meets a sparkly, sassy fairy who says the pirates have spotted him and will come looking.

The real place: Peter Pan

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

  1. 1Peter Pan was created by a Scottish writer named J.M. Barrie, and the story was first a play in London in 1904.
  2. 2Barrie gave the rights to Peter Pan to a children's hospital in London, Great Ormond Street, so the story still helps sick kids.
  3. 3There is a statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens in London, the park where Barrie liked to walk.
