Badinskool is lovely outside school, but in class she cannot sit still. Sent to the corner by Miss Wigglebutt, she draws a chalk turtle, wishes she could carry her home on her back, and vanishes.
She pops out of a giant tortoise's shell in the Galápagos Islands. To get home she must help a blue-footed booby, a frigate bird and Shady, a pink iguana with a bad temper.
