Hissyfit and the Tofu Rocks of Taiwan

The story

Hissyfit says yes to every adventure, but when anyone stops his fun he throws his red marble and a giant hissy fit. At the tidepools with Bubbleroo, his marble cracks the sand open and he drops straight into a sinkhole.

He climbs out onto rows of square tofu rocks in a rushing river in Taiwan, with city lights in the distance. On the seventh rock his feet won't budge, and something shaped like a frog is trapped inside the stone.

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1The tofu rocks are big square concrete blocks placed in a river in Hsinchu to slow the water and protect the riverbanks.
2. 2They got their nickname because they look just like giant squares of tofu sitting in the water.
3. 3Hsinchu is nicknamed the windy city because strong winds often blow there.
