Punchem and Kickem Visit the Mesozoic Era

The story

Twins Punchem and Kickem are full of energy, and when it gets bottled up they punch and kick. On a hot day at their favorite swimming hole, they fight over who gets the rope swing first and both get flung into the raging river.

The current carries them all the way back to the time of the dinosaurs, where a Diplodocus tail swings above the trees and a huge Torvosaurus is peering down at them.

The real place: The Mesozoic Era

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1The Mesozoic Era, the age of the dinosaurs, has three parts: the Triassic, the Jurassic and the Cretaceous.
2. 2Diplodocus had one of the longest tails of any dinosaur, and some scientists think it could crack it like a whip.
3. 3Cycads, the plants that help the twins, grew in dinosaur times and still grow on Earth today.
