The story

Sketcher can draw anything, and once he starts he can't hear a thing. Dared to sketch a smoking beaker in science class, he only snaps out of it when Melody sings, knocks the drawn beaker, and vanishes in smoke.

He lands on a shelf of handmade dolls at the Vernissage market in Yerevan, Armenia. A kind doll named Araxie hides him, until a scowling boy named Albert points and says he wants that funny little doll.

The real place: Yerevan, Armenia

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

  1. 1Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world. It was founded nearly 2,800 years ago.
  2. 2The National Gallery of Armenia sits on Republic Square in Yerevan and holds the country's biggest art collection.
  3. 3On clear days you can see snowy Mount Ararat from Yerevan, even though the mountain sits across the border in Turkey.
