Bossylina and the Smoking Red Javanese Crater

The story

Bossylina is adorable until she switches into boss mode and starts pointing her red fountain pen at everyone. Searching for a secret door in a giant tree with Bragger, she stomps her foot and the ground swallows her.

She lands at the bottom of a crater near Mount Bromo in Java. A mohawked monkey named Modjo offers to carry her out, but the crater is alive, and it does not like being poked.

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1Mount Bromo is an active volcano on the island of Java, Indonesia, that often puffs out clouds of white smoke.
2. 2It sits inside a huge, much older crater surrounded by a flat, gray plain called the Sea of Sand.
3. 3Every year the local Tengger people climb to Bromo's rim for the Kasada festival and toss offerings of food and flowers inside.
