The story
Dowanto is a fun, generous Goop with a magic kite, but he says "I dowanto" to just about everything. When he says it to the wind, she gets so cross that she blows him up into the clouds and leaves him there.
High in a stormy sky, Dowanto must find a never-ending stairway and wait for three lightning strikes. First he has to escape an icy hail cloud who wants to keep him as her frozen prisoner.
The real place: Storm Clouds
Three things to tell your kid after the story.
- 1Hailstones form when raindrops get tossed high up inside a storm cloud, freeze, and grow a new layer of ice on each trip.
- 2A bolt of lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun.
- 3You see lightning before you hear thunder because light travels much faster than sound.
