Elostum and The Wise Lemurs of Madagascar

The story

Elostum is kind and thoughtful but loses everything, so he always carries a key to remind himself not to. On Pink Day, his key flies out of his hand into a lily pond, and when he dives in after it, he disappears.

He pops up in a rainforest in Madagascar, where an aye-aye named Leroy gives him a magic stone that can spot a liar, just before a bat hawk swoops him away.

The real place: Madagascar

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1Wild lemurs come from Madagascar, and almost every kind of lemur lives nowhere else on Earth.
2. 2The aye-aye is a lemur that taps on trees with a long, skinny middle finger to find bugs hiding inside.
3. 3The fossa is Madagascar's biggest meat-eater. It looks a bit like a cat and climbs trees to hunt lemurs.
