Impatienta and Chronos, the Personification of Time

The story

Impatienta tells great jokes, but she can't wait for anything. When Neverlissen shows up eighteen minutes late to their treehouse picnic, she stomps her foot on a creaky board and falls right through.

She lands high in a clock tower above a busy street in Bern, Switzerland, next to a golden figure ringing an enormous bell. He is Chronos, the personification of time, and he has something to teach her about waiting.

The real place: Zytglogge, Bern

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1The Zytglogge is a medieval clock tower in Bern, and its moving clock has been delighting visitors for about 500 years.
2. 2Just before the hour, little figures come to life: a rooster crows, a jester rings bells, bears parade in a circle, and Chronos turns his hourglass.
