The story

Knowitall is friendly, clever and very proud of everything he knows. When Impatienta asks him a question he can't answer, he blurts out "Indonesia" anyway, and a giant atlas floats down and snaps shut on him.

He pops out in a steamy jungle in Indonesia, where an orangutan named Bayu shows him around and warns him about one thing: never let a false gharial in the river catch sight of you.

The real place: Tanjung Puting National Park

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

  1. 1Tanjung Puting National Park, on the island of Borneo, is famous for protecting orangutans.
  2. 2The word orangutan comes from the Malay words for "person of the forest," and orangutans build a fresh nest to sleep in every night.
  3. 3The false gharial is a crocodile relative with a very long, skinny snout that is perfect for catching fish.
