The story
Manipulata is hilarious, but she always gets her way, even if she has to bend things a little. During a floating egg experiment with Neverwait, she grabs the salt, pours far too much, and dissolves right into the pile.
She wakes up on the Uyuni salt flat in Bolivia, where the sky is above her and below her too. A flamingo named Vangelis tells her that here, under a full moon, whatever she truly feels can come to life.
The real place: Salar de Uyuni
Three things to tell your kid after the story.
- 1The Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is the largest salt flat in the world.
- 2After rain, a thin layer of water turns the salt flat into a giant mirror that reflects the sky.
- 3Pink flamingos visit the salty lakes nearby to eat tiny algae and shrimp.
