The story
Neverwait is the handy Goop who fixes everything, but he never, ever waits. Up on windy Mistral Ridge, he begs Colorina to color the wind with every crayon at once, and a black ball of wind sweeps him away.
He lands on a giant fan blade inside the Rolls-Royce UltraFan, a jet engine being tested. A tiny robot named Oscar agrees to help him explore, but only if Neverwait can wait right where he is.
The real place: Rolls-Royce UltraFan
Three things to tell your kid after the story.
- 1The UltraFan is a real test jet engine built by Rolls-Royce in England, with a fan about three and a half meters wide.
- 2In 2023 the UltraFan was run for the first time, using fuel made from sustainable sources instead of regular jet fuel.
- 3Most of the air pushed by the giant fan flows around the engine's hot center, which makes planes quieter and saves fuel.
