Rudella and the Norwegian Trolls

The story

Rudella is a great shot with her tiny bow and arrow, but she is so rude that most Goops won't play with her anymore. When she shoots an arrow past a squirrel to make him play, he decides to send her to the trolls.

She steps through a glowing door in a tree and finds herself in Norway under the Northern Lights. To get home she must reach Trolltunga, a cliff high above a lake, and prove she has no troll in her.

Three things to tell your kid after the story.

1. 1Trolltunga means "troll's tongue" because the rock sticks straight out over the lake like a giant tongue.
2. 2In Norway you can often see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky on dark winter nights.
3. 3In old Norwegian folk tales, trolls only come out at night, because sunlight turns them to stone.
